Adam Butlin is a PhD scholar in Economics at Balliol College, University of Oxford. His research focuses on the implications of household heterogeneity for monetary and fiscal policy, with a particular emphasis on open-economy dynamics in response to international trade and financial shocks.Â
Adam is regularly featured by major news outlets including the BBC, ITV, Guardian & Reuters. He was previously a pre-doctoral Research Assistant in the Centre for Economic Performance at the London School of Economics, where he worked with Professors Thomas Sampson, Swati Dhingra, and Catherine Thomas on topics in international macroeconomics.
He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Economics from University College London, where he also worked as a Research Assistant to Professor Dame Wendy Carlin, Professor Gabriella Conti, and Professor Pedro Carneiro.
